Tom's first piece of the Magic Mannequin Museum series. His approach to the series is to take the inital idea of a fashion design concept and to push it even further, visualizing the entire universe of what the designer had in mind / creating an „exaggeration“.
This particular piece painted on four canvases generating one big art work, represents the four seasons winter, summer, spring and autumn; dedicated to "Marni" and "Prada".
The brand's fabrics are collaged into the art work- then partly painted over.
The first two parts of the 4 Seasons (winter and autumn) split the model and her reflection into winter and spring, using a photoshooting Tom took as template and bumping it up to the next level.
MMM - the Magic Mannequin Museum goes beyond what we see in fashion, diving into initial ideas of selected designers interpreted by Tom Lohner.

"The Bashful Screamer" - a dedication to Baz Luhrmann's "Great Gatsby".
Tom started this painting without the intension of what it then turned out to be. His goal was simple "Let's create something deep and freaky" - is it really that simple?
However - on the way, having actually sketched out the final painting, Tom came across a trailer of "the Great Gatsby" and he was blown away of how much this movie resembled the piece he was actually already working on. Without a doubt Tom researched each movie character and ended up dedicating this piece to Tobey Maguire's character - who played the role of Nick Carraway.

The triptych treats overrated paranoia and unnecessary anxiety; hereby the artists fear of plane flights is used as a metaphor.
Kept in a neo-look of the 1940‘s a plane (JU 52) glides through a front of clouds, carrying a bomb on board.
All three decks represent the artist‘s inner disunity. The artwork‘s left side reflects the inexplicable gut feeling. The right hand side of the art work is dedicated to the awareness and reality, it expresses flying as being one of the safest transport facilities nowadays.
